Internet Service Awards | Make Money Tips

The internet has opened up a whole new world of job opportunities, many of which are available right from your own home. Among the many legitimate opportunities, there are, of course, many that may not be. Most of the sites listed below are sites where you can bid on or apply for jobs working online. There are also a couple of sites, which provide links and helpful resources for individuals looking for home-based employment, that deserve to be in this top 10 list.

  1. Guru.com This is one of the freelance bidding sites online. Employers post projects, and the freelance members of the site place bids on the projects. There are jobs posted in seventeen general categories, which include technology related jobs, business related jobs like accounting and admin support, and creative job fields like graphic design, writing and photography. Freelancers are charged for the site’s internet services by deducting a percentage of the fees earned by the freelancers.
  2. Elance.com This site is also an internet provider of freelance bidding opportunities. The site carries the same wide variety of project types and also collects a percentage of the earnings of its freelancers. The site does provide a high level of protection on its freelancers by requiring that the employers deposit the funds for contracts with them, before the freelancer is required to begin work. Once the freelancer performs their side of the contract to the satisfaction of the client, the Elance releases the funds to the freelancer.
  3. Freelancer.com One more online bidding site to add to the list. This site works similar to the other two with the exception that bidders are allowed to see the amounts their competitors are bidding on projects. Guru does not allow freelancers to see these numbers and Elance only provides the high, average and low bid numbers on each open project.
  4. DemandStudios.com This site hires writers, copy editors and filmmakers to supply and edit content for some popular websites online, such as: E-How, Livestrong and golflink. Freelancers must submit applications and samples of their work in order to be considered for acceptance on the site. Once accepted, projects are listed for the freelancers to choose from and complete. Payment is received from DemandStudios upon satisfactory submission of your project.
  5. About.com If you have knowledge, experience and the ability to write well, About.com pays its writers, which it refers to as ‘Guides’, quite fairly. There is an application process and a training period required before being approved as an About.com Guide on any particular topic.
  6. GenuineJobs.com This site provides a variety of work from home job listings free of charge to freelancers. The employers posting the jobs pay to have their ad listed, which helps ensure that those posting jobs are truly willing to pay for the work they are requesting. The site also offers a free email newsletter of new job listings as they become available.
  7. LionBridge.com This is a very unique site. They “analyze and predict the intent of online users”. To do this, they provide opportunities for individuals in specific countries to work online browsing the internet. It lists positions such as: Internet Judge; Internet Assessors Program; Online Map Specialist and Social Media Search Consultant.
  8. Home-Business-Team.com This website boasts having the Top 40 Internet Online Business Directory. All the sites listed have been researched to assure the users that those listed are legitimate opportunities. The site includes a listing of the top rated survey sites.
  9. HBWM.com Forbes.com listed this in the Top 10 Best Sites for Working Mothers. Home-based Working Moms is a networking site for mothers who work from home or are looking for work from home solutions. But in addition to all the helpful support and encouragement, the site does provide links to potential income making sites for their visitors as well.
  10. UserTesting.com – If you like to test applications both to get a feel for new services that are coming out or just to be a part of making sure web applications work like they are supposed to, then this could be the perfect job opportunity for you.  You basically walk through websites recording your screen and your voice as you go through the steps required to complete each test.  You both get paid and you truly help to improve the quality of the Internet at the same time.
